While reading an article on computer-techie stuff talking about blogging, I came across this taken from punk rock ....

People at the top will get commercialized, but "there's always someone in the garage."

So what does that have to do with bellydance?......
It got me thinking about why I dance, yet again.  My personal life is a bit hectic right now, so this is a frequent thought topic for me.

SO

I guess I am one of those someones in the garage.  Dancing because I love it.  Dancing because it speaks to my soul.  Not that I think I could make a career of it.  My family life and my lifestyle are not built to accomidate that.  And that is ok.  I love my husband and kids.  I love where I live and I like my job that helps us pay for it all.

AND

I am continually glad that I found bellydance.  It is part of the "me" in the whole equation that is my life.

AND

Others in my class may go onto bellydance professionally and be able to make a decent living dancing, teaching and selling around bellydance.  I am very happy that it is an option for them and I wish them great success in it because we sisters of dance all benefit when they succeed.  It has taken me time to cultivate this thinking - my own personal growing up, grin.

AND

So I consider myself blessed that I can dance in the garage, at small local haflas, at student recitals, at small local shows.

Dance for the Joy of it,
Terrah
